# azeroth run notebook manual

This manual documents the local notes form on [Azeroth Survivors Field Guide](https://azerothsurvivors.cc/), an independent companion website for Aethus's game. It covers the website's note-taking interface, not the game's save system or an optimized class build. Interface and implementation checked on October 19, 2026.

## Open the notebook

Open the [run notebook on the class comparison page](https://azerothsurvivors.cc/tier-list/#run-notes). The form is headed “Your run notebook”. You do not need to load the embedded game or create an account to use it. The original game is developed by Aethus and is available from [the creator's website](https://wow.aethus.pl/).

## Fill in the five fields

* **Class:** choose the class used for the attempt. The selector contains Warrior, Paladin, Hunter, Rogue, Priest, Shaman, Mage, Warlock and Druid. Choosing a name records a label; it does not load a character or change the game.
* **Version / date:** enter the build identifier shown by your game. If no identifier is available, record the date instead. The field accepts up to 150 characters. A date is useful context but does not prove that two sessions used the same build.
* **Map / mode:** copy the name displayed in the game rather than guessing a map from an illustration. This field also accepts up to 150 characters.
* **Permanent gear / Talent XP:** record the conditions at the beginning of the attempt, using up to 250 characters. This helps distinguish an equipment or progression change from a different class decision.
* **Upgrade choices & results:** use the larger text area for the choices actually offered, the choices you selected and the observed outcome. The limit is 5,000 characters. Separate survival, boss outcome and cause of death when you can observe them. Leave unknown values unknown.

These are manual entries. The guide does not read game state, calculate damage, time your session or verify the result.

## Save the current record

Press **Save notes**. A successful save displays “Run notes saved in this browser.” The form writes one current record into this website's browser local storage. Saving a later record replaces that saved record; the current interface is not a multi-run archive.

Typing alone does not save the form. Save after making changes you want to keep. Returning to the same website in the same browser profile can restore the saved fields if site storage remains available. Private browsing, storage restrictions, a different browser profile or clearing site data can prevent that result.

If saving fails, the status reads “Storage is unavailable. Copy your notes before leaving.” Do not treat that message as a successful save. Preserve the text outside the website before closing the tab.

## Copy before starting a new record

Press **Copy as text**. The form creates plain text from the current field labels and values and attempts to place it on the clipboard. A successful copy displays “Run notes copied.” Paste that text into your own document, check that it arrived, and give the saved copy a date or run label before replacing the notebook's current record.

Copying does not create a downloaded file or another saved record on this site. It also does not save the form to local storage. If you want both the browser record and an external copy, use both controls.

When clipboard access is unavailable, the form asks you to select and copy the notes manually. Copy the field values into your own document using your browser's normal text controls. There is no JSON import, automatic cloud sync or account recovery for these notes.

## Keep notebook storage separate from game progress

The notebook is served from azerothsurvivors.cc. The original game comes from wow\.aethus.pl, including when loaded in the guide's optional embedded player. Saving this notes form does not back up a game save, unlock items or transfer a character between those websites. For an established game session, follow the original game's own instructions rather than assuming an embedded session shares its storage.

Notebook text is not sent to the guide's server by its save or copy handlers. The guide has separate privacy choices for analytics and advertising; those choices do not turn the notebook into a cloud service. Avoid entering passwords or other sensitive information into a gameplay note.

## Use the record as evidence, with its limits

Keep starting conditions visible when comparing two records. A different map, permanent gear or upgrade offer may explain an outcome. Record unsuccessful attempts as well as successes, and label proposed explanations as hypotheses. One saved record is a personal observation, not a class ranking or proof of an optimal build.

This manual was written by Zen Nin with AI assistance from the guide's actual form fields and save/copy implementation. It reports interface behavior, not completed combat tests. Neither this guide nor the manual is an official Aethus or Blizzard publication.
